Laser Eye Surgery Fact Sheet

• You are at least 18 years of age
• You have had a stable eye condition for approximately 1 year
• You see well with the aid of glasses and contact lenses
• You have good general ocular health

• Thorough eye examination with an ophthalmic surgeon
• Consultation takes approximately 2 hours
• At the completion of the consultation, you will be told which procedure is suitable for you, and the expected outcomes
• If you are not suitable for any procedure offered by Perfect Vision Laser Correction you will not be charged for the consultation

• Eat a light meal before the procedure
• You must abstain from wearing soft contact lenses for 2 weeks prior and 4 weeks prior for hard contact lenses
• No eye makeup, hairsprays or perfumed deodorant to be worn on the day of your procedure
• Organise someone to accompany you home after the procedure
• Bring a pair of sunglasses (eyes are sensitive to glare post-procedure)

• You will at our clinic for approximately 3 hours on the day
• An oral sedative tablet is available to help you relax
• Treatment is approximately 7 minutes per eye
• You will be able to see well enough to perform most daily activities, however you will not be able to drive until clinical staff advise you that you are ok to do so (generally at your Day 1 postoperative appointment)

• Post-operative appointments include Day 1 and then 1, 3 and 12 months
• No swimming for 2 weeks
• No contact sport for 4 weeks
• No eye makeup for 1week
• Medicated eye-drops to be used for 10 days
